How To Make an Impact
Office based environmental impact areas are predominantly energy consumption for laptops and office lighting, waste generation and water consumption.
We encourage all employees and stakeholders to be aware of the impact their activities have on the environment and where applicable to reduce this by such things as:
Reducing carbon emissions by turning off lights and equipment when not in use. Utilize natural light if possible. Turn off electrical items at the power switch to save even more energy.
Sourcing electricity from carbon emission conscious suppliers where practical so that we can assist in reducing the country's carbon footprint through green consumption.
Continued minimal use of office printing and where necessary, think first then print, adjust margins to a smaller width, print on both sides
Recycling all items that can be recycled. Put waste into the appropriate recycling bin. Recycle items such as printer toners and old phones etc. Dispose of old equipment and furniture in a responsible manner - always think recycling first.
Buying green products including purchase of paper, envelopes and packaging materials made from recycled materials
Ensuring taps are turned off properly so there is no water wastage.
Encouraging our employees to follow these same principles at home, particularly in the home office.
Encouraging our customers, suppliers, and all business associates to do the same. Not only does this make sound commercial sense for all; it is also a matter of delivering on our duty of care towards future generations.
